I'm normally the first person to put my hands up and say I'm really not a fan of the neon trend. Is it even a trend anymore? It's been going on for years. However, when I made my prom outfit I had an idea to make it work with neon. So I bought this yellow-green shirt from H&M for about £4, not the prettiest colour I know. It isn't the brightest neon either but it's as far as I'm willing to go.

I picked up this white skirt in the Debenhams sale. It seemed like a good idea at the time but I had trouble coordinating it with different shirts. Turns out pale/pastel colours are best, but when I paired it with the neon shirt they seemed meant for each other.

I remembered Christopher Kane's S/S 2011 collection where he used neon lace over a darker fabric. I only have black lace at home, and you know, not enough money to afford anything by Christopher Kane, so the other way around will do. It's great for adding a bit of colour to a dark outfit. This is something that would be good for going out in *nudges everyone going to various freshers weeks*.
A little bit more formal
|Lace Shirt and Skirt - DIY|
This is the last outfit with a lace maxi skirt and a belt thrown on and basically my prom outfit with a neon shirt. This is more for a formal night out (fancy bar? I don't know I don't get out much. Especially not since my friend lent me her Sherlock DVDs).
I think I'll do more of these styling posts soon. If you have any suggestions on what else I should style please tell me in the comments!
